Mission Manzanita. It’s pretty rare to find Mission Manzanitas seedlings now days. Most come from underground burls. In other words, some may look like seedlings, but can actually be pretty old compared to what you may think. In this episode of living wild, California Chaparral Institute’s Director, Rick Halsey, goes on a mission in search for Mission Manzanita seedlings. Watch to find out wether his adventure or not has been successful.

Here’s a photo that one of our Chaparralians, Nathan, took at the California Wolf Center. This is a Northern Gray Wolf, the species they used to introduce wolves back into Yellowstone. They have been listed an endangered species in California and have been seen traveling into parts of Northern California. OR-7 has been spotted in Northern California raising 3 pups.
